Avocent PM / Cyclades PM Power Management and
Power Measurement
Cyclades PM power management devices are a family
of intelligent power distribution units that enable
remote power management and control of servers and
network gear.
When used in conjunction with Cyclades ACS console
servers, Avocent DSR KVM over IP switches and Avocent
DSView 3 KVM over IP management software, the Cyclades
PM devices provide a power management system with
easier management capabilities and faster problem
solving by integrating system access and power control
into a single interface.

All Cyclades PM models include two RS-232 outlets
that allow the creation of daisy-chains with up
to 128 outlets. Connect this chain to one of the
outlets on the Cyclades ACS console server for the
most advanced remote power management solution in
the market today. Remotely manage your power infrastructure
using HTTP, HTTPS, telnet, SSHv2 and SNMP and integrate
the solution with existing LDAP, Kerberos or RADIUS
authentication schemes.
Cyclades PM power devices are available in two
different types: NEMA and IEC.
Cyclades PM - NEMA models
The NEMA models come with NEMA5-15R power outlets
and NEMA input power cables. These products are
designed to operate at 100-125V. The NEMA models
come in 15A, 20A and 30A units with optional twist-lock
input plugs.
Cyclades PM - IEC models
The IEC models come with IEC320-C13 power outlets
and IEC320 input connectors or fixed power cables.
These products are designed to operate at 100-240V.
The IEC models come in 10A, 15A, 16A, 20A, 30A and
32A units.

Cyclades PM42 3-Phase Intelligent Power Distribution
Unit
Cyclades PM42 3-phase intelligent power distribution
unit (IPDU) provides integrated remote power management
and distribution for high density IT racks. Cyclades
PM42 3-phase intelligent power distribution unit
(IPDU) enables remote power control and system management
of IT assets located within data centers that utilize
or plan to use more than 5kW of power within server
racks. When used in conjunction with Cyclades ACS
advanced console servers and DSR switches, the
Cyclades PM 42 IPDU offers quick problem resolution
through an integrated management interface. With
one or more outlets positively associated with a
particular device, users may control power "in line"
through a user-defined "hot key" or by using an
intuitive Web browser-based GUI.
Cyclades PM42 includes two RS 232 ports: one
for remote management through Cyclades ACS console
servers, DSR switches as well as DSView KVM over
IP 3 management software, and the second one for
daisy chain expansion. Daisy chaining allows operators
to control up to 3 units as a single device. Remote
management capabilities include event logging and
fault notification via email, SMS or SNMP traps.
Cyclades PM42 is equipped with 42 IEC320-C13 power
outlets and a fixed power cable with L21-30 termination.
It accepts 208Vac 3-phase input voltage and converts
this to three separate banks of split-phase 208Vac
circuits suitable for powering IT equipment.
