CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) is a technique used to model fluid flow using numerical analysis techniques. Fluid flow is predicted based on how minute volumes, or voxels, interact with each other and surrounding surfaces to create a steady-state, three-dimensional model. Billions of calculations are required to reach this “steady-state”. CFDs can be very useful to determine savings and capacities with your cooling system and are a great way to see the potential of your data center and certain impacts before applying different techniques.
