Avocent DSR1024 Single-port IP KVM
The Avocent single-port DSR1024 KVM over IP switch provides 1 user with remote BIOS-level control of one PS/2, USB, Sun and serial based computers or network devices over UTP cabling. The advanced DSRIQ server interface cables implemented with each computer automatically assigns and maintains unique server names for each attached device along with providing users with a reduction in cable clutter. Local PS2 ports provide users with access to all attached computers at the rack. Additional ports included on the DSR1024 provides users with remote power cycling capabilities along with allowing fail-safe remote access with use of an external modem if the network is down. DSView 3 management software presents users with failover authentication by implementing a hub and spoke architecture. This unique and secure KVM over IP access method allows DSR users to authenticate with a central management Hub server or one of 15 mirror Spoke servers.

The Avocent DSR1024 KVM over IP switch is specifically designed for BIOS-level management of branch devices controlled by a single computer, such as ATM machines. Remote access via the one-port Avocent DSR1024 switch can help eliminate on-site maintenance costs and service calls. The switch includes one target device interface, one digital channel and a local port.

Attached devices can be cycled on/off with the dedicated power control port. External modem support is available if your network is down. Supported by DSView 3 management software, SNMP and IPMI, the DSR1024 switch provides hub and spoke failover capability ? users can authenticate even when a primary server is unavailable.
