DirectNET Partners with Upsite
Technologies to Provide Data Center Cooling
Solutions Analysis
Broomfield, CO – October 29, 2007.
DirectNET Inc., the nation’s largest value-added
reseller of data center management infrastructure
solutions, today announced that it has entered into
a partnership with
Upsite Technologies (www.upsitetechnologies.com)
to provide cooling solutions that optimize data
center’s critical physical infrastructure and ensure
site uptime.
With this agreement, DirectNET will begin to offer
Upsite’s
KoldLok® raised floor grommet, a unique,
patented solution that decreases the occurrence of
lost air, also known as bypass airflow, which can
have detrimental effects on
data center cooling. Specifically, KoldLok
grommets help seal cable openings that contribute to
data center
hot spots, cooling inefficiencies, and
infrastructure costs.
“Analysts continue to advocate enhancements in
existing assets as a means of improving energy
efficiency,” noted Patrick Cameron, Director of
Business Development for DirectNET. “Upsite’s
KoldLok grommets achieve this objective by offering
a solution that optimizes existing investments,
rather than requiring costly investments in new air
handlers.”
The agreement also allows DirectNET to offer
Upsite’s
KoldWorks services, a series of data center
cooling assessments that measure the cooling,
airflow, critical power, and general room conditions
of an existing data center. The purpose of these
assessments is to help organizations improve
equipment reliability, minimize bypass airflow, and
diminish capital costs associated with installing
new equipment.
“By integrating Upsite's well-engineered solutions
into our existing product portfolio, we can continue
to offer our customers best-of breed solutions that
have a proven track record of strengthening existing
cooling infrastructure,” notes Alan Mamane,
President and CEO of DirectNET.
