42U Product Update: New Features of Raritan Dominion
SX Secure Console Server Series
Broomfield, CO—October 6, 2006:
42U, the nation’s largest

and server management solutions, today announced several
new features of Raritan’s
Dominion
SX secure console server series.
Many new upgrades have been added in the 3.0 release
to increase the manageability of
Dominion
SX devices, which provide administrators with local
and remote access to the command line consoles of servers
and other serial devices.
Upgrades include increased memory for 8-, 16-, 32-,
and 48-port models (the port buffer has been increased
from 65KB to 256KB), and the addition of intelligent
auto-failover to all Dual-NIC models. Also, the new
full modern CLI – GUI equivalence allows improved usability,
with command completion, history and scripting of all
commands. In addition, other upgrades include IPMI support,
port keyword monitor and alerts (“port triggers”), VT220/320/ANSI
support, and NFS logging.
New security features were added to the devices as well,
including a fully featured firewall; “Man In The Middle”
attack mitigation, selective static routing support,
flexible strong password support, enhanced encryption
options, and user-defined and installable security certificates.
