Product Update: Avocent Offers New Emerge MPX1000 HD
Multipoint Extender
Broomfield, CO—November 8, 2006:
42U, the nation’s largest independent value-added reseller
(VAR) of datacenter and server management solutions,
today announced that
Avocent
Corporation will soon offer the Emerge
MPX1000,
a new HD Multipoint Extender that will allow users to
extend high definition video and audio from one source
to one or more destinations wirelessly or through a
wired configuration.
The Emerge MPX1000 features AES 128-bit encryption,
and can transmit high-resolution computer graphics (up
to 1280 x 768), high-definition video (including 720p
and 1080i), and stereo audio to up to eight wireless
or LAN-connected receivers. Video and audio can be extended
wirelessly up to 150 feet (through walls) and up to
1000 feet (line of sight) with optional directional
antenna. Using standard 10/100 Ethernet wiring, the
Emerge MPX1000 can extend video and audio up to 3,000
feet.
The Emerge MPX1000 Multipoint Extender uses High-Definition
Multimedia Interface (HDMI) technology to provide true
digital picture and sound content delivery to support
professional audio-visual applications, such as digital
signage applications and presentations and has less
than four frames total system latency from input at
transmitter to output at receiver, making it well-suited
for both live presentations and recorded media.
Audio-video synchronization is maintained at each display
and all wirelessly connected receivers remain in “lock
step” with each other. The MPX1000 HD multipoint extender
has interchangeable modules for input of analog VGA
signals or digital HDMI/DVI signals.
The Avocent MPX1000 provides two primary user interfaces
for system configuration and control: a web-control
interface and a front panel display. In addition, the
extender also allows for several methods to control
external A/V equipment through RS-232 serial and infrared
connections.
The Emerge MPX1000 will be available for purchase by
the end of November 2006.
