42U Earns Avocent Data Center Solutions Accreditation
42U among first companies to receive
accreditation upon completion of data center
solutions training
Broomfield, CO - March 7, 2008 -- 42U
today announced it is among the first wave of
graduates from Avocent's initial VAR
accreditation training program for data center
solutions, one of several initiatives planned
this year to help partners further expand their
Avocent expertise and offer increased value to
customers. The course emphasizes how partners
can leverage Avocent's individual data center
products to deliver end-to-end data center
management for their customers.
"The advancements Avocent has made within the IT
Infrastructure space are impressive. They are
clearly focused on providing robust,
best-in-class and comprehensive solutions for IT
total asset management, "commented Alan Mamane,
Founder and President of 42U. "We are thrilled
to be one of Avocent's exclusive partners,
serving all of the mountain west region."
The accreditation course is centered around
Avocent's data center solutions, including both
technical training on individual products as
well as training regarding the integration of
solutions to deliver efficient end-to-end data
center administration. Avocent solutions
streamline management into a single console to
help IT staff work more effectively. In addition
to specialized training on industry-leading DSR®
switches and Cyclades ACS serial console
managers, the accreditation training program
cover these unique Avocent solutions:
- DSView 3® Management Software - software
management platform used to access and
control data center devices - both physical
and virtual - in one console regardless of
manufacturer or operating system
- LANDesk Server Manager - an enterprise
software solution used to manage and protect
servers, integrates with DSView 3 software
for in-band and out-of-band server and
data-center management
- MergePoint® service processor manager -
management to leverage service processors
already present in servers to enable remote
server management including power and health
- Cyclades PM power management devices -
management that enables remote power
management and control
"Undergoing Avocent's new accreditation
program demonstrates an impressive commitment to
improving a company's knowledge of how Avocent
solutions work together in the data center to
better inform and build solution for their
customers," said Steve Hammond, director of
channel marketing at Avocent. "We're pleased to
recognize 42U as one of the first companies to
receive the distinction of corporate
