The ST-C5KVM Universal CAT5 KVM Extender allows one keyboard, monitor and mouse to be placed up to 1000 feet from the computer or NTI KVM switch using Category 5 unshielded twisted-pair cable. Available in both Standard and Video Only models, this unit solves a variety of problems, separating workplaces from computers: Allows remote access to network servers. Ideal for situations where a control station is needed in a hazardous or unsecured location, such as shop floors or loading docks. The ST-C5KVM allows you to locate CPUs up to 1000 feet from the control point in a secure location. CPUs remain protected from moisture, vibration, temperature extremes, electro-magnetic fields, and theft. Use in-house phone wiring to remotely connect a keyboard, monitor and mouse. Increases desk and floor space.		The Universal CAT5 KVM Extender consists of a Local unit connected to the computer or NTI KVM switch and a Remote unit connected to keyboard, monitor and mouse. The Local & Remote units are interconnected with CAT 5 cable through their RJ-45 connectors. Compatible with PC & SUN computers. Utilize the keyboard/mouse platform that you prefer - keystrokes are translated across platforms. Compatible with all NTI switches. Crisp & clear 1900x1200 resolution. Keyboard & mouse emulation so the computer boots error-free every time. Video equalization control compensates for image quality loss over long cables. The ST-C5V (video only) requires manual adjustment of equalization to obtain optimum image quality. The ST-C5KVM has auto-equalization to provide the best image quality at any cable length.

Host Any PC with PS/2 ports. Any SUN, including new ULTRAs. USB ports will be supported in near future. Keyboard Female 8 pin miniDIN connectors. User devices can be PS/2, SUN. SUN US/English keyboards are supported across all platforms. Non-US SUN keyboards are supported to SUN-only computers.   Keyboard & mouse are hot-pluggable. Keystrokes are translated across platforms. USB keyboards will be supported in the near future. Monitor Crisp & Clear 1900x1200 resolution. Male 15 pin HD connectors on the Local unit. Female 15 pin HD connectors on the Remote unit. A multiscan VGA monitor is required. Synchronization types supported: separate and composite TTL Level. Maximum resolutions: 1280x1024/75 Hz -up to 1000 feet. 1600x1200/75 Hz -up to 600 feet. 1900x1200/75 Hz -up to 400 feet.

Mouse All connectors are female. Compatible with all standard 2-button PS/2 mice as well as the following: Alps Glidepoint Touchpad-extended functions (i.e. tapping, etc.) are not supported. Cirque Glidepoint Touchpad. IBM Scroll Point mouse-extended stick functions are not supported. Kensington Orbit Trackball. Logitech (and other) 3-button mice. Logitech 2-button Wheel Mouse. Microsoft Ballpoint mouse. Microsoft IntelliMouse.   Sun 3-button mice are supported. Wheel on IntelliMouse emulates Sun's third mouse button. Smooth mouse movement. USB ports will be supported in near future.   Power 110 or 220 VAC at 50 or 60 Hz via AC Adapter.
