For more efficient and effective power management, datacenter managers are increasingly implementing remotely managed power solutions, which leverage hardware and/or software to monitor and control server-level power state and condition.

Several important features of intelligent power solutions can help promote uptime:

Smart Load Shedding―Automatically “shed”, or perform a graceful shutdown of designated non-essential devices when certain pre-defined conditions occur.
Centralized Management Capability―Aggregate access to multiple intelligent power management products, environmental monitoring solutions, and remote management products.
Branch Circuit Protection―Prevent outages and
losses with branches of grouped outlets with their own fuses or circuit breakers to isolate power anomalies and issues.
Three-Phase Power―Mitigate increasing power demands with 208V three-phase power, which uses
fewer circuits, provides a more balanced power load,
and significantly increases available amperage into the rack.
