SynapSense PowerImaging™ power metering and Branch Circuit Monitoring (BCM) software is providing data center professionals robust tools to improve server room energy efficiency and reduce operating costs. SynapSense PowerImaging utilizes power metering to measure the data center cooling infrastructure and overall IT load, while BCM enables circuit-level monitoring to capture power usage data down to the rack or cabinet level. Branch Circuit Monitoring
The PDI BCM solution interfaces via split-core CTs with PDU circuit panels or RPPs and supports up to two 42-circuit panels. BCM is used to monitor individual circuits to prevent overloading and costly downtime. This power metering and monitoring solution tracks amps, voltage, power factor, and energy. Combined with the SynapSense PowerImaging console, BCM will help data center managers track and manage the power usage throughout all power distribution equipment with rack-level visibility. PowerImaging allows for monitoring of circuit and rack-level power, leading to phase balancing and optimization of loading across PDU's.
