Rack Enclosure With Integrated Water-Based Cooling For High Heat Density Electronics

The Liebert XD Water Based cooling modules work as a system with Liebert XDP-W Coolant Pumping Unit to supply cooling water to high heat density racks. The modules offer an alternative to critical applications where the hot aisle/cold aisle approach to cooling is not practical.

Liebert XD Water Based Cooling Modules allow you to take advantage of an existing building chilled water system, using the Liebert XDP-W coolant pumping unit to distribute the cooling water to the racks or to cooling modules mounted on the racks.

Liebert XDK-W is available in models that provide 17kW of cooling and 40U of rack space; and 25kW of cooling with 37U of rack space. 60 Hz or 50 Hz.

The Liebert XDK offers a number of unique features designed to provide high-level cooling protection of rack-mounted components:

  • Completely sealed from room air - high density server racks inside the unit utilize closed air circulation for cooling.

  • Effective heat removal - server heat load is dissipated into the cold water system through an air-to-water heat exchanger in the bottom of the rack.

  • Redundant high-performance fans - drive closed loop air circulation in the rack's interior, while servers are supplied with cold air at the front of the rack.

  • Can cool more than 17kW per rack - reduces the risks of downtime in extreme density environments.

  • High efficiency - up to 30% improved cooling system energy efficiency.

  • Highest possible leakage safety - with strict separation of heat exchangers and electronic equipment.

  • Utilizes Liebert XDP Coolant Pumping Unit- which houses the isolating heat exchanger between the Liebert XDK water circuit and the building chilled water, as well as the control valve, pumps and system controls. It controls the fluid temperature to always be above the actual room dewpoint to prevent condensation on the piping and the coils
